Lists seem to be the go. I shop often in Amazon.com, and as I am stuck in the middle of nowhere I need novels to read and music. Working for an American company makes it easy to get stuff from them through their American address. Amazon.com have lists everywhere. So here’s mine:
10 Reasons To Be Thankful For Being Gay And To Not Give A Shit What Anyone Else Thinks:
1. You can have sex anywhere, anytime and anyhow. (I think this one really pisses the heterosexuals off – that’s why some of them hate us so much. They think they can but really how easy is it for them compared to us?)
2. Women feel safe with you and tell you all sorts of stuff they would normally never tell any man and most women who like gay men are completely un-shockable.
3. You don’t have to learn a completely new anatomy. You know how it works and what it likes because yours is the same as the one you are touching, licking, sucking, inserting or whatever.
4. It’s ok to enjoy and relish in the whole gamut of human experience because you don’t have to conform to sex role stereotypes or do what is ‘expected’ of you because you are male.
5. You can feel smug in the knowledge that some people don’t know you are gay and you can shock them by being direct and telling them proudly that you like cock or what you and your husband did at the weekend – just like they say it.
6. You will probably have a cool relationship with your Mum and give her fashion advice as well as all the other stuff you will never experience with your father unless you are very lucky.
7. You will have lots and lots of stories to tell because growing up was not easy and every day you may face bigotry, hatred and fear because of who you are. You can use them to be stronger or change the world and make it a better place for those that will follow you.
8. You will touch lots of lives and meet lots of people even if you only just have sex with some of them.
9. You will lead a true life because you have accepted who you are and are proud of it.
10. You don’t need to be thankful for anything and you don’t need anyone’s approval. Say this to people and see how liberating it is.
